Reading the excellent blog, Incentive Intelligence, author Paul Hebert recently attended a round table discussion with other noted U.S. Incentive Marketing professionals, hosted and moderated by Incentive Marketing magazine.
Incentive Marketing Magazine released an article about the discussions on their site, and it makes for interesting reading. I especially liked some of the Gen X and Gen Y comments.
On the Incentive Marketing side of things, iPods and Home Theatre seem to be still popular, but experiences are becoming the more common. Gen X is family oriented and their experience – a weekend away at a resort, must cater for the kids, keeps Mum entertained, allows Dad to be with the family. Gen Y experience is different – a weekend in a sports car, for example…something a little different from normal life. (Saying that, I know a few Gen Y’s who drive sports cars anyway!)
